ATY
Air textured yarn (ATY) is a type of textured yarn that is produced using compressed air. The process involves taking continuous filament yarns of polyester or other synthetic fibers, heating them to the point where they become pliable, and then using high-pressure air to blow and twist them into a bulkier, more textured yarn. This process can be used to create a variety of textures and finishes, from soft and fluffy to more structured and crimped.
The resulting yarns are often used in knitwear, woven fabrics, and home textiles, as they offer a unique blend of softness, texture, and strength.
ATY can be offered with slubs, neps and other fancy characteristics to create a distinctive feel in the finished fabric.
